Minnesota's Paul Molitor joined Major League Baseball's "3,000 Hit Club" on Sept. 16, 1996. In the first inning, against Kansas City, Molitor singled for hit No. 2,999. Six innings later, he drilled a triple to the alley in right field, thus becoming the first man to join the elite club with a three-bagger.
